We are looking for an inclusive ensemble cast of 11-12 people. Performers of all ages, gender identities, and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

As this is an ensemble piece, actors may be cast in a variety of parts. Comfort with the audition material would be helpful, so sides are available for viewing in advance at the below link.

Please note: While originally set in Wales, this telling features a “Downeast” setting and no Welsh dialect will be required. Some characters may desire slight Maine accents, which will be developed in collaboration with the performer.

Originally commissioned by the BBC, and set in the Welsh countryside, Dylan Thomas’ ‘play for voices', UNDER MILK WOOD provides an emotive glimpse into one spring day, many years ago. From the dark before dawn to dusk and starfall, audiences are transported to the reimagined Downeast seaside village of Llareggub where we learn of the inhabitants' dreams and desires, their loves and regrets, and feel the push and pull of a tight-knit community. As time passes, the play introduces us to characters such as Captain Cat who dreams of his drowned former seafellows, and Nogood Boyo who dreams of nothing at all. Polly Garter laments her long lost love while young Myfanwy Price swoons over the rush of new love. Both hilarious and heartwarming, this tale is sure to captivate audiences from adolescence to adulthood.
